Spaghetti & Meatballs

We have not had spaghetti in our house for quite some time so last night we decided to make homemade meatballs and take that jar of traditional sauce to a whole new level. This I do believe was the best spaghetti I have ever had, I kid you not. The sauce my husband created was out of this world delish and it complimented my meatballs very well.

Sauce:

26 Oz. - Traditional Spaghetti Sauce
1 Tbs. - Garlic (chopped)
2/3 C. - Water
1 Tsp. - Italian Season
1 ½ Tsp. - Parsley
1 Tsp. - Steak Season
1 Oz. - Semi Sweet Chocolate
1/3 C. - Ricotta Cheese
2 Tsp. - Parmesan Cheese

Meatballs:

½ Lbs. - Ground Chuck
1 Tbs. - Garlic (chopped)
½ Tsp. - Steak Season
½ Tsp. - Parsley
1 Tsp. - Italian Season
½ Tsp. - Paprika
1 - Egg

16 Oz. - Spaghetti Noodles (cooked)

In a medium sized bowl mix together all the meat ingredients and shape into balls about the size of a walnut. Bake on a foil lined baking sheet in a 350 degree oven for about 15-20 minutes or until fully cooked through. While the meatballs are baking add all of the sauce ingredients to a medium sized sauce pan and simmer for 15-20 minutes stirring every few minutes. When the meatballs are done place them into the sauce and simmer for another 5-10 minutes then ladle the sauce over the platter of noodles and top with the meatballs. Garnish with some fresh grated Parmesan cheese and parsley.

The sauce sounds neat - chocolate, really? I have got to try that especially with my daughter cooking with me (she will love that!).

I would have never thought that chocolate would be good in pasta sauce. That looks really good though!
