Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

I bought a new plate to display some food on for our blog, when I saw this plate is just spoke to me. The plate told me that it just had to have Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake on it, well… when a plate speaks to you what are you going to do but listen.

1 Super Moist Chocolate Cake Mix (I used Dark Chocolate)
1/2 C. Creamy Peanut Butter
3 1.53 oz Reese’s Pieces Candy
1 C. Milk Chocolate Chips

Follow the instructions on the box for making the cake, when you are ready to beat the batter add in the peanut butter. Beat the cake mix until creamy and smooth. Prepare a 13x9 cake pan with cooking spray then spread half of the batter into the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle half of the chips and half of the candy onto the batter. Spread the rest of the cake batter on top of the candy then sprinkle with the rest of the chips and candy. Bake according to the box instructions and let the cake cool completely before frosting.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Frosting

1 16 oz Creamy Supreme Frosting (I used Chocolate Fudge)
1/3 C. Peanut Butter
3 1.53 oz Reese’s Pieces Candy
1 C. Chocolate Chips

Mix the frosting and peanut butter until creamy and smooth, frost the cooled cake and then sprinkle on the chips and candy.

CAN YOU SAY RICH...But yet Verry YUMMY !

This reminds me of Reeses Pieces Pie: We used to live in Montreal, and our favorite cafe down the street featured this amazing pie with an Oreo-esque crust, and layers of peanut butter mousse, thick caramel and chocolate ganache, topped with Reeses Pieces. 'Twas amazing. Thanks for the memory. : )
