So we all know that we like to step out of the conventional box every so often and make people go "Oh My Gosh, they made what". You also know by now that we love Bacon at the Dunkin household, you do all recall the bacon chocolate chip cookies don't you? When I heard on our local radio station that Denny's was celebrating their Baconalia I could not be any happier because we truly do love all things bacon. My husband and I went to dinner at Denny's the night I heard the radio add and we enjoyed 3 kinds of bacon with eggs and hash browns along with a side of bacon pancakes. But, I must say that our most outrageous item to eat that night was the creation we just had to replicate today and share with all of you.
Makes 2 Sundae's
French Vanilla Ice Cream
4 Tbs. - Pure Maple Syrup
6 Slices - Cooked Hickory Smoked Bacon (4 pieces cut into bite size sections)
Place a large scoop of ice cream into the bottom of a sundae dish, sprinkle with some of the cut bacon and top with 1 Tbs. syrup. Repeat the layers then using 1 piece of bacon break it into 2 pieces and nestle in the back of the sundae for garnish.

Oh MaryBeth - I am dying. You know I love bacon too. I am so curious to see how this tastes. What did ya'll think of it?
Holy Cow I cannot believe that was originally from Denny's, it looks like something you and Ed would come up with!
Cheryl, so true. This is something you would think we thought of making but sadly Denny's beat us to it.
Brandi, all I can say is try it cause it is amazing. The flavor combo is awesome
interesting combo!
What a combo of ingredients! It actually sounds great as I can't think of anything much better than bacon!
i've been a fan of the bacon-for-dessert movement since the beginning, and this creation is among the most appetizing i've seen. so lovely and clever, marybeth--well done!
