We really love to enjoy a good steak at home from time to time; we have found that our most favorite steak is a “Flat Iron”. This cut of steak is so forgiving in cooking, you can go rare to well over done and it is still tender and juicy. My husband cooks them up on the outdoor grill to perfection, they need nothing on them to enhance their natural fantastic flavor but when I saw this topping being used on steak, I knew my husband would love it. He is a cilantro freak, so I knew this would be a great hit with him.
1 Bunch - Parsley Chopped
1 Bunch - Cilantro Chopped
3 Tbs. - Capers Chopped (I left these out)
2 - Garlic Cloves Chopped
1 1/2 Tbs. - Red Wine Vinegar (I used red wine garlic vinegar)
1 1/2 Tsp. - Salt
1/2 Tsp. - Red Pepper Flakes
1/2 Tsp. - Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1/2 C. - Olive Oil
Put the parsley, cilantro and garlic into a medium mixing bowl and toss to combine. Add the vinegar, salt, red and black pepper and stir. Pour in the olive oil and mix well to combine. Allow the mixture to sit for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. This sauce is not only great on steak but I think it would also be wonderful on pork and chicken as well.

Mmm, I would love this and yes, the flavors would be great with chicken or pork, too!
That sounds like a great topping.

Mary Beth, this sounds delicious. I have another recipe for this, but I'm in a rut and looking for new recipes. I let you know what my family thinks. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary
ohh yes..this sounds perfect for a steak!
I had this in a restaurant a few years ago and was missing out all these years on a delicious topping to steak - looks delicious, even though I am about to eat breakfast!
I've heard that this is delicious with grilled steak but have never tried it. If you come to the Beaverton market, MaryBeth, I hope you will stop by the Bavarian Nut Company's booth and say hi. Would love to meet you.
this is an extremely simple and efficient way to flavor a steak--it does a good job and tastes amazing!
